Klokki alternative for Mac
Switch from Klokki without losing an hour.
Klokki’s development is on hold, with no updates or support. Hourbloom works from your Mac’s menu bar too, and your Klokki history comes over in one CSV file.
Coming soon to the Mac App Store
Same menu bar. More for client work.
The timer is still one click away, with what freelancers need next to it.
Earnings as you work
Start a task from the menu bar, and today’s total grows at your hourly rate. The week and the month add up on their own.
Calls on the clock
When Zoom, Meet or Teams turns on the microphone, the call gets its own task and its own time.
Notes on calls Pro
A notes window opens with the call, and what you write stays with the call’s task.
The client’s Google Sheet Pro
Connect it once, and Hourbloom writes your hours and tasks into it day by day, after showing what will change.
Payments to receive Pro
Log a client’s payment and see what’s paid and what’s still to receive.
A backup every day
Hourbloom saves a copy of your data every day and keeps the last 30.

Need timers that start themselves from rules? That’s what Klokki was built for, and Hourbloom doesn’t do it. Hourbloom is for starting a task with a click and seeing what it earns.
Klokki details come from klokki.com, Klokki Slim in the App Store, read on 14 October 2026. Klokki is a trademark of its owner; Hourbloom isn’t affiliated with it.
Import
Bring your Klokki history with you.
Three steps. Nothing changes until you confirm the import.
Export from Klokki
Open Klokki’s reports and choose the dates you want to bring over, then choose Reports → Export shown… in the menu bar and save the CSV. Klokki Slim has the same menu.
Import into Hourbloom
Open Settings → Data, press Import… next to Entries from other apps and choose the file.
Check the days
Hourbloom shows every day in the file and what it already has on it. Each Klokki folder goes into one of your projects or a new one — you choose. Then press Import; Undo Import puts everything back.
What comes over
- Folders, as projects
- Tasks and their notes
- Exact start and end times
- The hourly rate, for projects Hourbloom creates
Entries shorter than a minute are left out. Klokki’s rounding isn’t applied: the exact times come over.
Questions about switching.
Is Klokki discontinued?
Klokki’s site says its development is on hold: Klokki and Klokki Slim stay available as they are, with no updates or support. It also says Klokki may return as a new app, without a date.
Can I move my history from Klokki?
Yes. Export a CSV from Klokki’s reports and import it in Settings → Data. Hourbloom shows the days before adding anything, and Undo Import puts everything back. See the steps.
Does Hourbloom start the timer by itself, like Klokki?
Not by rules. You start a task with a click. Hourbloom starts a task of its own when a call begins, and asks what to do with the time you were away from the Mac.
Will my hourly rates come over?
Yes, for the projects Hourbloom creates from Klokki’s folders. Projects you already have keep their own rate.
Is Hourbloom free?
Time tracking, hourly rates, today’s earnings and CSV import and export are free. Pro adds client sheets, call notes, reports for any period and client payments with a monthly goal — try it free for 14 days.
Make every hour count.
Hourbloom is a menu bar time tracker for freelancers who bill by the hour.
